The Wrath of the Black Death
The Wrath of the Black Death
One dark night on the top of a hill,
The four dark angels discussed their next kill.
War, Pestilence, Famine, Death,
Evil feared above the rest.
Pestilence decided to give it a go,
A disease so deadly, all would know.
The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse said their goodbyes,
Pestilence's disease would bring tears to mortal eyes.
The disease began in Asia, it then spread overseas.
It was carried by rats, rats with fleas!
Spices were bought, spices were sold,
A cargo so deadly, you wouldn't live to be old.
It arrived in England in 1348,
It was like someone had opened a gate.
Closely packed houses, filt

I've heard all the stories and memorised the tales.
Never gave up on the myths and legends,
Always had faith in a brighter, better somewhere,
But you never seemed to care.
'It will go to your head', that's what you said,
With reference to the fragile young mind.
But its not so brittle that its easily broken,
By people like you who say I live a lie.
Grow up, grow up, grow up.
Why don't you just grown down for once?
At least try to believe.

You're a beauty in the eyes of many,
A jewel in a crown of thorns.
The exception to the rules of evil
And that suits me right down to the ground.
We dance, hand in hand,
In the ballroom of our lives,
Twisting and turning,
In time with the music of your perfect soul.
I know what you are,
And it means nothing to me.
I'm captivated, held fast,
Caught up in the chains of your incredible wonder.
You are from nobility,
Born with a silver spoon,
Placed into your fanged mouth.
Socially higher than me, yet you become lower than most.
Your family name,
Lives in whispers and shadows.
Old gossips follow your clan's tale,

"Today, we acknowledge the dawning of a new era. An era where we no longer fight with pistols, rifles and tanks. Where the art of warfare is no longer an art and battles are fought with wit, cunning and tactical thinking. Our weapons have been thrown to the dogs, in favour of brain power and wicked mind games. We fight, not just for our freedom, but for our memor

The Funeral Of Hearts
The Funeral Of Hearts
My heart stood in line with the others, its once perfect beauty twisted and contorted by the pain and anguish filling every empty corner of the surrounding area. I saw it blacken with the others, blacken with every step taken by every warrior on the battlefield, with every gunshot.
The heart stood to the left of mine shook violently, each convulsion growing stronger and more deadly by the minute. It fell to the ground and led still and as the shadows moved aside, I knew it was free.
I felt the tears begin to form in my eyes, silent tears that no one can stop from falling.
I prayed for the day the battle would end, wh

Call Yourself A Parent?
Call Yourself A Parent?
You shout at me for everything,
You call me unkind names.
You shout at me for shouting back,
I always get the blame.
Call yourself a parent?
You don't yell at my brothers,
You always yell at me,
You tell me that I'm selfish,
And you always say "we'll see"
Call yourself a parent?
You think that you know everything,
You tell me where to go.
You tell me how to live my life,
When I don't want to know!
Call yourself a parent?
And then I took sometime to think,
And organise my head.
I realised just who you are,
And this is what I said...
You laugh at all my rubbish jokes,
You let my friends stay overnigh
Candle
Candle, melt the ice that surrounds my frozen heart.
Burn away the the pain of a lifetime spent apart.
Candle, melt my frozen voice so that I may speak again.
Burn away the anguish, the fear and the pain.
Candle, melt my frozen mind and give me back my dreams.
Burn away the nightmares that ripped me at the seams.
Candle, give me light and warm me to the end.
Burn away the memories of betraying friends.

Double Yellow Lines
I remember you five years ago,
Back when we were still at school.
Your ambition brought you nothing but a downfall.
Daddy's little girl, perfect in every way.
Never thought there would be a day when you would fall.
Catch a glimpse and you're in trouble with the cops.
Another parking fine to add to the collection.
Who would have thought that so much trouble could come from double yellow lines?
Daddy's little boy, perfect in every way.
Never thought there would be a day when you would fall.
Catch a glimpse and your in trouble with the cops.
More graffiti written on the church walls.

Find Your Feet
What is it with you?
There's always something left to do.
Why is it always me?
I can't always provide the answers, don't you see?
You call me up every night,
And complain about some stupid fight.
I can't always be there to help you,
When I'm a hundred miles away, what the hell am I supposed to do?
Find another person to turn to,
Find another shoulder to cry on,
I can't always be there with you,
Go and find your feet.
Find another place to run to,
Find another rock to lean on,
I can't always be there with you,
Go and find your feet.
What is it now?
Have you had another row?
What can I do?
I don't think there'
Stop The Fire
Leave me here,
Let me stay among the flowers.
Leave me here,
Let me live among the faeries.
Leave me here.
Let my mind run free and far from you.
Leave me here,
Let my heart be with you always.
Stop the fire,
Don't let it destroy the life I lead.
Stop the fire,
Don't let it kill the magic folk.
Stop the fire,
Don't let it burn my dreams.
Stop the fire.
Don't let it break my loving heart.
Take me home.
Let me leave this place of torment.
Take me home.
Let me be free from these steel chains.
Take me home.
Let me return to where I once was.
Take me home.
Let my heart be with you always.
I Am...
I am...
Sat upon the window sill, watching the gentle rain.
I am...
Racing with the raindrops, looks like Splash won again!
I am...
Swimming the English Channel at twice the speed of light.
I am...
Falling down Niagra Falls in my head at night.
I am...
Paddling in shallow water by the sandy shore.
I am...
Splashing in the puddles, so far I've splashed in four!
I am...
Hoping and wishing that the sun will stay away,
I am...
Praying that the rain will last for another day.
The Watcher
The Watcher looks through crimson eyes,
Eyes of sorrow and despise.
Crimson eyes drop crimson tears,
Each tear a lifetime of countless fears.
The Watcher looks but does not see.
Does not see you nor me.
Sees only what she wants to view.
That is not me, that is not you.
The Watcher stands and wipes her eyes,
Forces on a smile that hides the lies.
The Watcher looks across the sand,
And sees two people, hand in hand.
The Watcher stares only for a while,
And walks away, with her awful smile.
You sit and watch her walk away,
She will be back, but not today.

This Castle In The Clouds
Come away from the world below and join me in the sky,
Come to this special place, this castle in the clouds.
Watch the busy little people run their busy little lives,
Watch the wistful dreamers see this castle in the clouds.
Compare the world around us to the world below.
Compare the awful landscape to this castle in the clouds.
Look beyond the veil, beyond the curtain and the mask,
Look beyond this beauty, this castle in the clouds.
See into the minds of those who dream that dreams come true.
See that every dreamer will dream of this, this castle in the clouds.

Walking Down A Country Lane At Midnight
Can you hear the owls singing their late night song?
Or hear the rabbits scuffling in their burrows?
We're walking down a country lane at midnight.
Can you spot the fox in the corner, his brush tail stiff?
Or see the frightened fieldmouse run away?
We're walking down a country lane at midnight.
Can you smell the freshly cut grass in the fields all around?
Or smell the lovely flowers that we pass?
We're walking down a country lane at midnight.
Can you feel the chilling breeze, as it winds it's way around us?
Or feel the little rocks beneath our feet?
We're walking down a country lane at midni

'For Dreamers and Believers'
I got locked out of my house today.
So I climbed over the back gate (very attractive in a maroon school skirt) and kicked in the back door.
And I didn't even get in trouble for it.
It was apparently 'better that I kicked in the door, as opposed to a criminal'.
An excellent point.
Fall Out Boy.
They're alright.
Don't see why people are getting all hung up on them though.
Now the Zutons.
They are a band.
Saw them live a few weeks ago.

And Bon Jovi a couple of Sundays back.
WOW.
I lurve gigging.
Its amazing =D
More than just a wise ass I'd say Jodie. You have some tasty lines in your works which explore personal moments with great candor. That makes them very readable.
(and yes, the black death poem is, in fact, cute.)
